Medication Disposal Program

The Westfield Police Department is committed to fighting the illegal use and abuse of prescription medications. Although police usually focus these efforts in enforcement, we also participate in several preventative measures. One of these preventative measures is an unused prescription drop off kiosk which is open 24 hours per day.

Unused prescription pills can be dropped off in the lobby of the police station at 15 Washington Street 24 hours per day. There is a large green metal kiosk in which you can place any unused prescription pills. This kiosk is not for liquid medication or needles. Needles can be disposed of at the Westfield Health Department located in City Hall at 59 Court Street.

The Westfield Police Department is committed to preventing prescription medications from reaching the hands of children, teens, or anyone who would misuse them. Please dispose of any unused medications promptly once they are no longer needed. Thank you.

For more information on discarding unused pharmaceuticals please visit the Massachusetts Government Energy and Environmental Affiars Page.
